Well this is my first blog and if you had asked me a couple of years ago what a 'blog' was I wouldn't have been able to tell you. In fact I am sure my kids will be quite impressed that I figured out how to do this all by myself without their input. ha ha. But I have suceeded and I thought I should write something down.
I guess I should answer the question 'why blog at all?' I guess I wanted to start a blog just to keep track of the things I do, the things we do as a family and as a church. I didn't want to forget the everyday things, the small ways that God moves in my life every day. Oh it's easy to remember the big, wow moments in our lives but sometimes it's easy to forget the small things that He does to make our lives easier.
When I got up this morning I frosted the two cakes I had made yesterday for the WM bake sale that was held today at Wilsons. Then at 9:30 I went to Wilsons and helped with the hot dog sale. It was fun to be with Flora, Donna and Sandra. Dolly Lee and Molly ran the bake sale inside. We met so many nice people today who just wanted to stop and talk.
At 1:15 Brad and I went to the Lions Hall to help Janie Brannen with her fund raiser for the Shelburne County Early Childhood Development Association. I left at 2:00 to go and pick up Alannah at home and bring her to it. We bought tickets on the silent auction items but didn't win. It was still a nice time though. When we were getting ready to leave, Mom and Dad walked in to surprise us. They're staying overnight. So the five of us went out to JB's for supper and then home.
Once we were home there was the dishwasher to empty and reload, laundry to throw in the washer, a bed to be changed and made up and just general 'stuff'. So you are probably wondering, after saying all that, how God made my life easier today... well He gave me the strength to do everything that I needed to get done today and He gave me help along the way. He sent kind spoken people my way and encouragers. He ministered to me today. He sent Mom and Dad to see me. He was there all day with me. I am blessed.
