There is a chorus that we use to sing, years ago, that unfortunately we don't sing much anymore, called Every Day With Jesus. It's a simple chorus and like many simple ones it is so very true. The words go like this:
Every day with Jesus
is sweeter than the day before
Every day with Jesus
I love Him more and more
Jesus saves and He keeps me
and He's the One I'm waiting for
Every day with Jesus
Is sweeter than the day before.
Can you say that? Can you say that every day that you walk with the Lord is sweeter than the day before? Sometimes in our busy lives we rush here and there and we fail to take the time to reflect on all that the Lord has done for us. When we actually stop and remember the fact that Jesus has saved us from our sins, He has pardoned us, He has given us a fresh start, He has redeemed us, He has set us free from the guilt of the past, well when we remember that, we can shout hallelujah! We can celebrate!
This little song is a great reminder that not only has He saved us but He keeps us. He has promised in Psa 145:20 "God watches over all those who love Him". He will take care of us! What a promise! To know that we are not alone, He is always with us, what a comfort!
And what else does this little song tell us? That He's the One we're waiting for. What a great reminder to us! He's coming back to this earth again, this time to take His children home to Heaven. We have that blessed hope to know that our Lord is coming again. He has promised in His Word in Joh 14:3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, so that where I am, you may be also."
When we reflect on the words of this little song, we can truly say that "every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before. Every day with Jesus I love Him more and more." If every day we are counting our blessings and reading His Word, we will fall in love with Him even more. Every day that we are here on this earth we have the priviledge of growing closer to Him, and every day we have the opportunity of telling others about this wonderful Lord that we serve. So we can truly say that every day is sweeter than the day before!
