Proverbs 17:17 says "A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." A friend is truly a wonderful gift that the Father gives to us.
A true friend is a rare jewel that should be cherished and protected. A true friend is someone who loves me when I am at my worst or when I am at my best. Someone who does not judge me, does not critize me, encourages and remains loyal to me.
We take the word 'friend' so lightly sometimes that we really don't understand the meaning of that wonderful word. We live in a disposible world and sadly sometimes our friendships become disposible as well. A harsh word is spoken, a secret is revealed, a confidence betrayed and suddenly forgiveness seems out of the question and we are left without the gift of friendship.
But the Word states that 'a friend loveth at all times', always, forever, no matter what may come... 'a friend loveth at all times'! Are you that kind of friend? Do you have that kind of friend in your life? Someone you can be real with, someone you can let your guard down with. Someone you can trust?
A friend such as this is a priceless gift and should be cherished. Christ is such a friend to all who love Him and call Him Friend. Hebrews 13:5 states: "for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." That's a true friend. Abraham was known as a friend of God. Are you God's friend? That is something we should all aim for.
Cherish your friends, be a good friend to them in return and closely guard your friendship with Christ.
Wonderful Message here Laurie.....so very true....real friendship should be cherished & protected.....Praise God that He is that kind of friend that Loves us Unconditionally & Forever !!!! God Bless you My Friend....
