Browsing Through Blogs

Have you ever found yourself just browsing through blogs? I have and it's actually quite interesting what you will find. There are quite a few out there who share pictures of their families and their adorable children. They share things such as potty training woes or home school tips or recipes with cyber space. Some are sharing their happiness of an upcoming wedding or the birth of their children. Some are just looking for a way to pour out their grief or disappointments. Some say they don't even care if anyone is reading their blog or not, they just want to have the chance to vent their frustrations. Maybe they are just hoping someone does care and will respond to their words and leave a comment. I don't know.

A blog is just another way to share and I must say an effective one as well. I have been called to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the world and this blog has proven to be an excellent way to do so. Through the devotionals I have posted on here I have been able to 'speak' to people in just about every part of the world that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to. All of this is made possible because of the Internet.

There are those who feel that the Internet holds too many pitfalls for them to use it at all. Many have stayed away from it and refuse to allow it in their homes but I think that any technology can be used for good or evil and it depends on how you are using it that can determine how it affects your life. A telephone is a good piece of technology but in the hands of a gossiper or a slanderer it can be an evil vice. A telephone can be used to cheer someone up or to call for help or to encourage someone. It can be used to share information or to invite someone to dinner. Or it can be used for prank phone calls and harassment. It depends on who is using it and how.

The Internet is no different. Many of my friends use tools such as Facebook and blogs to share the Gospel with others and to encourage one another. They share prayer requests and search for information. Many read devotionals and the Word of God as well, all from the Internet. God can take any piece of technology and use it for His good. So whether it is the ability to blog we have been given or email or a telephone or whatever tool we possess, use it for His work. Take whatever you have been given at this period of history and use it for Him.

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10
