Bless The Lord, O My Soul!

I woke up singing this morning. "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name". Andrea Crouch wrote this little chorus and I love it because it is such a declaration of praise. "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and ALL that is within me!" I love how he put that word 'all' in there. I want to praise the Lord with ALL that is within me: with every fibre of my being, with all that I have, with all my strength, with all my power, I will bless the Lord!

Early in the morning, when all creation is waking and coming alive, when the sun is rising over the horizon, when the animals and birds are facing a new day, when the long night is over,  I will bless the Lord! In the evening, after the day is spent, when everything is winding down and finding a place of rest, I will bless the Lord! In the quiet of the day I will bless the Lord. In the busyness of the day I will bless the Lord!

With all that I am, with all that I ever hope to be, I will bless the Lord! "Bless the Lord, O my soul and ALL that is within me." He, alone, is worthy of our praise. Only Him. Praise Him this day! Praise Him for Who He is. Praise Him for what He has done. Praise Him for His love, His protection, His care. Praise Him with your voice. Praise Him with song. Praise Him with your actions and your words. Praise Him with ALL that you have! Praise Him.

"Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name!!"

(Chorus:)
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless His holy name.
[Verse:]
He has done great things,
He has done great things,
He has done great things,
bless His holy name.

  1. So true! Been waking up each day to realize it truly is a blessing! The lord I believe is pulling at my heart strings. I don't attend church, but each morning finding myself reading/doing daily devotionals and needing to learn more. Keep up the great reads :)
