I will be 52 years old this summer. If you asked a 16 year old about my age they would think I'm old, but if you asked an 80 year old they'd think I'm just getting started. Well the facts are that not many people live to be 100 so I have more years behind me than in front of me and it has caused me to reflect on what I have and haven't accomplished in my life.
I may never have traveled to all the places I thought I would when I was in my 20's, but I have seen some beautiful places, Mexico, England, Africa and Tennessee just to name of few. I may never have written a novel with my deepest thoughts and dreams living in the pages like I thought I would when I was only in my early teens, but I have poured into the lives of others and encouraged them to follow after the Saviour. I may never have been blessed to have a house full of children like I always dreamed of but I was blessed with three of the most amazing kids I could ever ask for. I loved every day I had to spend in their childhood with them and actually like being around the adults they have become.
I may never have had a Hollywood romance but I have been loved by one of the most romantic men of all time. He has been my champion, my defender and my friend. I have never had the opportunity to doubt his love for me and for that I am blessed.
I may never be remembered past one generation when my time on this earth has come to an end but I have lived my life to its fullest and have been blessed. I have had adventures few people get to experience and I pray that should the Lord will it, I will have many more. I may not have had the life I thought I would but I am so thankful that the Lord has given me more than I could have ever dreamed.
