Seasons

I am thankful to live in a part of the world which has four distinct seasons. While I enjoy all of them in one way or another, my favourite is the fall, or autumn, of the year. I love the reprieve from the heat of summer and the lull before the deep frost and frigid temperatures of winter. Even though I have my favourite season I know that each season has it's own purpose and reason for being.

So are the seasons of our lives. Each one having a time and a purpose and a reason set out by God before we were ever born. Jeremiah 29 tells us that God has a plan for our life. Psalm 119 tells us that He, Himself, knit us together in our mother's womb and knew us before we were ever born. There is a reason why you were born. A wonderful reason. God cared enough to make you in His image. You are special and He cares about you.

Maybe you are going through a difficult season in your life right now and you don't feel God's presence. Let me assure you that just like the seasons of the year each pass in their appointed time, so will this season you are in not last forever. Seek God while you are in this season and allow Him to help you through it. It won't last forever, but maybe there is a reason you find yourself there. Was it because of wrong choices you made? Then maybe The Lord wants you to learn from this mistake so you won't be found in this season ever again.

Maybe you find yourself in this season because The Lord wants to increase your faith. Or maybe it's so you can be a witness to His provision and love. Whatever the reason trust Him to bring you through and He will.
