Weeping May Endure for a Night, but Joy Cometh in the Morning

We have all had times in our life when we bear a sadness. When we don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. When all around us is trouble and we don't know how to get out of the mess we find ourselves in. It is at those times that we need to turn to the Lord and read His Word. He will direct us to the passages that will help us.
I love the promises that are found in His Word, especially in Psalm 30: Psa 30:5 "in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
The first part of this verse tells us that we will have life if we are in His favour. How do we gain His favour? I believe if we are trying to the best of our ability to live in a Christ-like way we will be in His favour. If we have a heart that follows after Him. If we read His Word and have a personal, intimate relationship with Him, we will be in His favour and we will have life!
The verse goes on to promise that weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Yes, we will have troubles but the Lord promises that they will not last. Our troubles will be temporary and they will be followed by joy. What a promise!

Later in the psalm in verse 11 it tells us what the Lord will do for us:  Psa 30:11  "Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;"
Remember that when you are going through troubles that the Lord has promised to turn your sadness into not only happiness but dancing! When we are so happy that we dance we are truly set free of all burdens, all troubles, all sadness. He will take away your mourning clothes and clothe you with gladness.
The psalm ends with instructions for our response to all that God has done for us: we are to praise Him and give thanks to Him.
Psa 30:12 "To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever."  I have found in my life that when I am going through a hard time, when the walls are closing in on me, I sing praises to God. I give thanks to Him, not that I am going through those times but because of the promises found in His Word I can be assured that these troubled times are temporary and that there is an end to them. So I praise Him for keeping me through them and for delivering me from them. God is so good.

If you find yourself in a troubled situation, with no where to turn, turn to the Lord. He is waiting there to help you through this. He is eager to show Himself to you and He longs to have a relationship with you. You've tried to figure out this mess on your own and it hasn't worked. Turn to Him and allow Him to turn your mourning into JOY!
