Apache Wedding Prayer

The Indian Wedding Blessing or Apache Wedding Prayer was written for the 1950 Western novel Blood Brother by Elliott Arnold. Take a minute and read this beautiful blessing:
Now you will feel no rain,For each of you will be shelter to the other. Now you will feel no cold,For each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there is no more loneliness,For each of you will be companion to the other. Now you are two bodies,But there is one life before you.Go now to your dwelling place,To enter into the days of your togetherness. And may your days be good and long upon the earth.

I have been blessed with someone to walk by my side these past 25+ years. He has sheltered me and protected me. Even though we often enjoy sitting in the same room, in the quiet 'doing our own thing', we still have that warmth of knowing that someone who loves me is there. We have had a life of adventure and we have faced each challenge together. I know he is there for me. What a wonderful feeling that is! No, he is not perfect. I wouldn't want him to be because it would make me feel so inferior to him. He is human, he is flawed, but he is mine. And I am his. And that is a good thing.

May your marriage be blessed and may your days of togetherness be wonderful times of growth and learning, of bending and pulling together. May you speak words of blessing to each other and may you walk together. May you come to the end of your life together each being richer, a better person than if you had remained single.

If you haven't found that one to walk beside you put your trust in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. He will bring your other half into your life so you can be one flesh. Luke 12:31 "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need."
