The Eyes of the Lord

Psalm 34:15 "the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry."

"The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous." God watches over the righteous with approval because they are doing things His way. His thoughts are tender towards them much like a doting, loving parent watches a toddler take their first step. His heart is full of pride over His creation. His children are so precious to Him that He doesn't take his eyes off them; He watches each one of them as carefully and intently as if there were the only person in the whole universe.

"His ears are attentive to their cry." His eyes and ears are both tuned into His children; His whole mind is attentive to them. Even if we are slighted by everyone else around us we will not be neglected by Him, because He is always watching over us. He responds to our cry just like a mother does when she hears her baby cry out in the night. Just as a mother can differentiate between the cries of bordom or trouble, God can tell the difference between our cries and responds to all equally. He cares about our lives and what is going on in them. He is listening for our cries. He is alert and on guard and eager to act on our behalf.

I hope that in times when you are feeling down or discouraged or alone that you will read this portion of Scripture again and be encouraged. God truly does care for you and is watching over you. Have a wonderful day today knowing that He is there with you every step of the way.
