We have a Basset Hound puppy that we just adore. He is so clownish that it's hard not to laugh when you see him running or swaying side to side as he walks. He loves to cuddle and prefers to take his morning and afternoon naps in my arms. He's adorable and even though we have only had him a short time, he has already stolen our hearts and we love him.
We have taken great care with him making sure he has everything he needs and is never left unattended, but accidents happen. Yesterday he tore one of his nails just about off completely. It's hanging sideways and it bled a lot. Needless to say today he is going to the vet, but it has upset the whole household. Everyone constantly checks on him and pets him and comforts him. We love him and when he hurts we hurt.
Our Heavenly Father is the same way about us. He cares when we hurt. He comforts us and provides for us. He sees our tears. We are His children and He cares about us. The Word of God is full of examples of God's care for His creation from Genesis through to Revelation. He loves us and nothing can separate us from His love. So if you have reached a point in your life where you think that nobody cares, let me assure you that Someone does. God cares about you.
