I have been married to my husband for just over 25 years and we dated for almost five years before that, so we have been together for quite awhile. After being with the one you love so long, you develop a way of speaking sometimes that doesn't require words. Sometimes it's a nod of the head, or a motion but whatever it is, it is your own special way of communicating. I have been in a crowded room and 'spoken' with my husband across the crowd. There is that special connection that you just don't have with anyone else.
When you have laughed together and cried together and shared life's ups and downs, you become knitted together. You understand how that person thinks. You know what they like and don't like. You know what hurts them and what can bring them joy. You truly do become 'one flesh'.
Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Matthew 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
Matthew 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Mark 10:8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
Let me encourage you not to give up on that growing process. It takes time for two people to become one flesh. When you cut your skin, it takes awhile for the skin to knit together and it is the same in the spiritual realm too. When we get married we are two separate people, with two thought processes, two ways of thinking, but as we live together under God, we gradually become so intertwined with each other that we become one flesh. That's why it hurts so bad when a divorce or separation takes place because one flesh is being torn apart to become two again. It may seem to you like you will never be one flesh but you will if you trust in God and give your marriage to Him. It's His will for you to be knit together. Allow Him to do the knitting. God bless.
Without saying a word you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes sayin' you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all
All day long I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd
Old Mr. Webster could never define
What's being said between your heart and mine
Hi Laurie I love that song too.And I really enjoyed this blog thanks.Dawn
