A Silver Vessel or A Clay Pot?

Proverbs 26:23-25 Like an earthen vessel overlaid with silver dross Are burning lips and a wicked heart. He who hates disguises it with his lips, But he lays up deceit in his heart. When he speaks graciously, do not believe him,

Luke 16:15
He said to them, "You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God's sight

I thought both of these verses compliment each other. It's a reminder to us all that God sees the heart. We may be able to fool those around us with sweet words while we use other words to hurt others. Our words and our actions reveal what is in our heart. It's important to keep our hearts pure before God and have our actions reflect that purity.

When all is said and done we will all have to stand before God and on that day all pretences will be stripped away and our souls will be naked before Him. What will that day reveal? He knows if we are a silver vessel, something that is beautiful inside and out or if we are just a clay pot pretending to be better than what we are.

Lets reflect Him always and if our words and actions don't, let's let go of past hurts and anger that we use to justify our actions and words and allow the love of Christ to reflect from us. God bless.
